I’ve been teaching in various capacities for more than 20 years with more than 10 in higher education. While in a MPA program at DePaul University in the School of Public Service, I found a passion for helping my peers learn stats. I had the added benefit of great professors that coached me and helped focus my creative energies. I use a coaching & mentoring approach to instruction to help facilitate student success.
I’ve led and designed courses from 6 students to over 120 across a variety of topics, modalities, cultures, and countries. Seeing the lightbulb moment when a student understands a concept or figures out a code solution is a joy.
If you are interested in being a TA for one of my AU classes (I am no longer teaching at UMD), please include the name of the class and state specific skills and experiences related to the course. Do not send me requests with generic, non-specific language and/or send me those requests via bcc, such that you would be sending the same message to multiple instructors.
I welcome feedback on how to improve my teaching skills and website content.
